Fly-In

Fly In Aircraft are what started it all at the Airshow of the Cascades. In the 1970’s, friends and family would fly in and land on the Ochs family ranch near Madras for an annual get together. As more and more began to attend, the need for another venue became the nexus for the move to Madras Airport and in 2000, the Airshow of the Cascades was born!

We invite all general aviation aircraft to join us, and. encourage pilots and owners who have rare, interesting, unique aircraft to fly in and display their aircraft so our patrons get to appreciate the love and care invested in these treasures of the sky. Pilots interested in have their planes judged may inform staff at registration. Trophies are awarded in the categories described below in “Trophy Categories.” Invite your

Fees

There is NO FEE for Fly-In registration, however, registering helps us plan appropriately, so we ask that you register.

Registration Deadline: August 1st, 2024. (Later registrations accepted)

Includes

One (1) FREE pass to the Ron Ochs Chalet for the pilot (each additional passenger will be charged $20 – payable at the Guest Services Tent upon check-in). Enjoy free live music, vendors, professional aerial aerobatics, Friday fireworks and more; plus
FREE access to the Erickson Aircraft Collection museum (shuttle service available) housing the largest private collection of operational vintage Warbirds in the world.

Dates

Friday, August 23rd
- Public Gates at 1400 – 2200
- Field closes at 1830; reopens after the show
Saturday, August 24th
- Public Gates at 0900 – 1700
- Field closes at 1300; reopens after the show

Fly In Judging Classes

Antique – 1934 and earlier
Classic – 1935 to 1955
Contemporary – 1956 to 1969
Current (1970-Present) – Excludes New or Unrestored Aircraft
Military – All military aircraft
HUEs – Homebuilt/Unique/Experimental

* All aircraft must be safe, fully operational and meticulously cared for or restored to operational and/or show condition.
